To stimulate the production of growth hormone and promote the conversion of fat into energy, it is extremely important to sleep 8 hours a day. Sport, of course, significantly affects weight loss, but it is not enough.

Eating habits are closely linking to weight control. However, this is not the only factor due to which a person can gain or lose weight. In fact, hormones also play an important role.

Hormone imbalances

Some hormones are responsible for important body functions, such as metabolism, appetite, digestion, and other weight-related processes.

This is why hormone imbalances can lead to obesity. If you have such a problem, be sure to consult a specialist, because in some cases the opposite – hormonal failure occurs due to excess weight. A specialist will examine you and help you determine your actual health and give advice.

Because the effects of hormones on health are so significant, we will talk about the most important of them and talk about their relationship to weight.

Influence of hormones and weight control: leptin

This hormone is secreted by fat cells. It sends a signal to the brain that the body already has enough energy and needs to stop consuming calories.

That is why it is known as the “appetite suppressant”. Proper leptin balance in the body is extremely important for normal weight.

The problem is that excess fat leads to excessive levels of this hormone. As a result, the brain stops responding normally to hormone signals.

To prevent this, you need to eat more fruits, vegetables, and other foods rich in antioxidants.

Insulin

Insulin is probably one of the most famous hormones. It is mostly talked about when it comes to diabetes.

The fact is that it controls blood sugar.

However, in addition to this important function, insulin plays an important role in nutrient metabolism. It increases energy consumption, which affects a person’s weight and general well-being.

That is why when a person’s insulin production is disrupted, sugar begins to accumulate in the form of fat, and it is very difficult to lose weight.

Cortisol

Cortisol is known as a stress hormone. It is associated with an increased accumulation of abdominal fat.

It controls the body’s fat stores, sugar levels, and metabolism. In addition, cortisol plays an important role in regulating blood pressure.

When this hormone is produced in excess, many negative reactions occur, which significantly impair the body’s work. That’s why it’s important to monitor your emotional health, relax more often and avoid unnecessary stress.

Estrogens and androgens

Estrogens are a group of mostly female hormones, while androgens are a group of male hormones.

Both types of hormones affect the distribution of fat in the body. This explains the weight changes that occur depending on your activity at each stage of life.

For example, in women of reproductive age, fat accumulates in the lower part of the body. However, during menopause, fat deposits begin to form more intensely on the abdomen.

HGH (Human Growth Hormone)

If you want to lose extra pounds faster and easier, pay attention to the effects of HGH on the body. It interacts with fat cells and helps convert them into energy.

To stimulate HGH, you need to perform intense exercise and sleep at least 8 hours.

Adrenaline

This hormone speeds up the heartbeat and narrows blood vessels. It helps a person cope better with stressful situations and mobilizes its resources.

In addition, adrenaline is closely linking to the conversion of fat into energy.

It suppresses appetite and prevents the accumulation of abdominal fat, which is extremely important to prevent obesity.

The best way to stimulate the production of adrenaline and maintain its balance is regular exercise.

Adiponectin

Adiponectin is a hormone that consists of adipose tissue. It affects the burning of glucose and fatty acids.

In addition, adiponectin increases the ability of muscles to receive energy from carbohydrates. It also accelerates the breakdown of fats in the body and controls appetite.

To balance the level of this hormone, it is recommended to exercise and consume more monounsaturated fats.

Irisin

Irisin is a hormone that is produced during physical activity. Its main function is to burn calories more efficiently, especially after exercise.

It enters the white adipose tissue (harmful fat) through the blood and turns it into brown adipose tissue (useful fat).

As you can see, exercise and hormonal balance play an important role in weight control.

Unfortunately, we do not always understand when a situation gets out of control and a failure begins. So do not forget to follow the right habits and go to the doctor regularly. This will protect you from hormonal imbalances.

There is an opinion that everything consumed for a late dinner remains in the body. And this is really possible if you go to bed immediately after eating. Then the body is unable to digest what is consumed. Because of this, it seems that eating flour-based foods at dinner is very harmful.

Food and hormones

Before talking about flour-based foods for dinner, you need to understand how hormones work. In addition, it is worth understanding their role in daily human life.

Obese people usually eat in a state of anxiety or because of food addiction, not because of hunger. This is due to the production of serotonin.

This hormone has several functions. It regulates appetite, controls body temperature, affects mood.

Serotonin is controlled by two parts of the brain: the pineal gland and the hypothalamus. These two parts function according to light and darkness.

Because of this, the hormone is more active during the day. At night, its level decreases and can cause depression, nervousness, or anxiety.

This means that you will eat more at night than in the morning.

But the most interesting thing is that this hormone “chooses” what foods it wants to consume. Of course, it does not prefer healthy food: fruits and vegetables. Instead, the choice falls on sweets, carbohydrates, fats, salty foods.

White wheat and depression

Many people who are trying to lose weight or are struggling with obesity are in a state of anxiety. Therefore, they consume foods that contain flour and sugar (or all together) to relieve stress.

This food has a calming effect and is something like an antidepressant. It is very harmful to health if you consume such foods at bedtime.

Sadness and frustration go hand in hand with an uncontrollable urge to eat a flour treat before bed. Consumption of refined carbohydrates promotes weight gain and complicates the weight loss process.

Eating flour choices in the evening is not harmful. The only problem is the number of these foods.

In addition, going to bed immediately after eating, without giving the body a chance to burn calories, creates an opportunity to gain extra pounds.

This is because the ingredients are very slow to digest. This can cause problems with the stomach or intestines (acidity, flatulence, constipation, etc.).

Also, keep in mind that you are addicted to foods that contain flour.

Eliminating carbohydrates from your diet is not an option. However, it is recommended to reduce their consumption in the evening.

Eat them for breakfast or lunch. They provide the energy needed to perform daily activities, in the process of which carbohydrates burn in a few hours.

If we talk about dinner, then it’s a little different. Still, energy is not needed during sleep.

On the other hand, choose foods that are easily digested in dinners, such as fruits and vegetables. With this version of dinner, sleep will be easy, and the problem of obesity will not affect you.

How to overcome the dependence generated by flour-based foods?

Theoretically, it is very easy to give up eating flour foods at bedtime. But in practice, it’s much harder to do, isn’t it?

Let’s talk about some tricks that will help reduce appetite. These tips help you not to overeat at bedtime.

This way flour-based foods will not be included in your dinner, and you will gradually lose weight.

1. Exercises

Physical activity is salvation in many ways. For example, it helps to improve physical condition and lose weight.

It also improves mood. Spend half an hour a day on moderate exercise and you will forget about anxiety, stress, and depression.

2. Eat more fruits

Always keep a plate of fruit on the table to avoid the temptation to eat sweets and carbohydrates.

Fruits stabilize blood sugar levels and saturate the body. They are enriched with water, fiber, and vitamins.

As soon as you want to eat chocolate, choose a delicious apple or banana.

3. Drink more water

Sometimes we confuse hunger with thirst.

If you have a normal water balance in your body, it is unlikely that you will feel hungry at night.

4. Listen to your body

Learn to understand your body’s signals when your stomach growls with hunger. A hungry growl is a little different from just wanting to eat something.

To understand the difference between these feelings, it is worth analyzing what you would like to eat.

If the first thing that comes to mind is french fries or cookies, then you are not hungry. When a person is hungry, he can eat anything.

Intuitive eating is a sensible and rational approach to food. And not a diet at all. Let’s find out the details.

Stephen Hawks back in the early ’90s, after ending a grueling diet that gave only short-term results, invented the method of intuitive eating.

Since then, the doctor has published a book “Intuitive Eating”, and founded the National Institute of Intuitive Eating.

Say “no” to diets

Intuitive eating is significantly different from diets. At the heart of any of them is the rejection of a group of foods, whether fast carbohydrates, dairy foods, solid foods, or all of this at once.

But the strict restrictions, sooner or later, lead to breakdowns and overeating – the body demands its own.

Hence the first principle of intuitive eating – “Give to your body what it requires”. No wonder this technique is successfully used to treat digestive disorders, including bulimia and anorexia.

Learn to be sensible about food

The main mistake of beginners in the school of intuitive eating is the lack of self-control. Deciding that you can eat everything and in any quantity, they do not deny themselves anything.

But, in fact, with unlimited access to fried potatoes and muffins, you will soon realize that such food causes heaviness in the stomach. And you can easily do without it.

Realizing this, you will make an informed choice in favor of healthy meals. And, as you know, only the forbidden fruit is the sweetest.

Learn to distinguish between hunger and appetite

Firstly, you should eat when you feel moderately hungry, without bringing yourself to a semi-conscious state.

Secondly, you do not need to order dessert just because you always do it.

Do not ignore the feeling of satiety

Put the spoon down when you realize that you satiety (or rather “almost satiety”).

You do not need to eating everything just because as a child you were taught not to leave anything on your plate, or because you are in visiting and do not want to offend the hosts, or have already paid for the meal.

Reconcile with food

Do not count calories, do not break down the dish into proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. You’ve seen a pizza before and asked yourself, “How many calories in it?” and “If I eat it today, what will I have to give up tomorrow?”.

A better way to do it – just think about that a pizza is just a pizza, and ask yourself only one question: “Do I want to eat it?”.

Do not forbid yourself even the most hostile product in the healthy food environment. After all, a forbidden will cause an uncontrollable weight, frustration, and guilt – and all of these feelings have no place in intuitive eating.

Enjoy your meal

If you do not like the contents of the plate and the process of cooking, you subconsciously compensate for the feeling of dissatisfaction with the amount of food or uncontrolled consumption of not the most useful foods.

Separate the need for food and the need for positive emotions

Insulting, anger, loneliness – it seems that any emotional wound is can be healed by a piece of cake. Is that really so? Maybe just for a couple of minutes.

And then to the negative emotions will be added another – guilt. The way out is to deal with the sources of negativity and their consequences directly.

Food is not a reward

The reverse side of the previous paragraph. Since childhood, we have become accustomed to the simple scheme ” if you will study good/help your parents – on the weekend we will go to a park and buy an ice cream”.

In adult life, it is transformed into “if I passed the exam/ran 5 km – I have a reward – chocolate”.

This does not mean that you need to give up motivation, just change the format of rewarding. Let the reward be a trip to the theater, a meeting with friends, or buying perfume.

Get pleasure from exercising

Choose the types of exercise that will bring you positive emotions and a charge of vitality, and not just burn the maximum calories and pump the right muscles.

Love your body

You need to love and accept yourself as you are with all your strengths and weaknesses. It does not mean to give up.

On the contrary, realizing mistakes makes them easier to work on. Just not choose an express diet, choose intuitive eating!

Since it is possible to build muscle mass with traditional products, it will be necessary to adjust the diet. Nutrition for muscle growth should be varied and balanced.

How to build muscle mass with protein food

Protein nutrition for a set of muscle mass is made up of products of plant and animal origin. Otherwise, it will not be possible to achieve an equilibrium of amino acids, the absence of one does not allow one to assimilate the other.

Foods high in vegetable protein: nuts, seeds, lentils, beans, beans, brewer’s yeast, mushrooms, spinach, cheese, dairy products.

When eating foods rich in animal protein – turkeys, chicken, veal, beef, pork, fish – they should be as fresh as possible because the meat contains enzymes that destroy the amino acids of the protein. In addition, these amino acids are destroyed by the action of oxygen.

Why carbohydrates are important for muscle growth

The human body does not synthesize carbohydrates. They are produced by plants as a result of photosynthesis.

First, carbohydrates, depending on the rate of assimilation, were divided into two classes. Those who were absorbed soon after use were called “fast.” To “slow”, requiring digestion, carry starches.

Soon it was found out that any carbohydrates increase to the maximum the content of glucose in the blood half an hour after eating. This indicator was called a glycemic index and for glucose was taken equal to 100. Carbohydrates with a glycemic index above 50 were called “bad”, the rest – “good.”

“Bad” carbohydrates create an increased burden on the pancreas, with abuse increase body weight.

To build muscle mass the body needs carbohydrates of any kind. They are a source of energy for training, even “bad”, used in reasonable quantities. “Good” and “bad” carbohydrates remarkably restock.

When the blood glucose level decreases, there is a famine. The intake of carbohydrates increases the level of glucose. Under the action of insulin, produced by the pancreas, it decreases and after a while returns to normal.

Insulin gives the cells a “command” to absorb glucose from the blood, compensating for energy costs. The excess is converted into fatty deposits.

In the diet when building muscle mass should include “good” carbohydrates with a low glycemic index, try to avoid heat treatment: red pepper, plum, cherry, currant, sea buckthorn, raspberry, dried apricots, apples, prunes, almonds, blueberries, oranges, carrots, vinaigrette, fresh green peas, grapes.

Why build muscle mass fat

It would seem that the increase in muscle volume is not associated with the consumption of fat. In fact, fatty foods are the most important element of nutrition in the growth of muscle mass.

Fatty acids are needed to create cell membranes, various hormones, including testosterone, the formation of nerve endings. The use of fatty foods reduces the production of cholesterol by the liver.

Balanced intake of fat is necessary for metabolism. Abuse of fatty foods, especially in combination with “bad” carbohydrates (watermelons, melons, bananas, potatoes, chips, bread, cheese, sugar, honey, rice, grapes, sweets, sweet drinks and juices), disrupts metabolism, why fatty deposition.

In the composition of solid fats (fat, cheese, butter), polyunsaturated fatty acids predominate. They contain vitamins A and D.

On the other hand, metabolic processes in the fat tissue of humans and animals are reduced. There accumulate harmful substances, when fed with animal fats, they are in the human body.

Vegetable fats (sunflower, olive oil) contain unsaturated fatty acids – linoleic, linolenic, arachidonic, before they were called vitamin F. Unsaturated acids are not synthesized in the body and must be supplied with food.

Vegetable fats reduce permeability, increase the elasticity of the walls of the vessels, are necessary for the metabolism of B vitamins that are important in building muscle mass.

Deficiency in the intake of vegetable fats depresses the reproductive function. The growth processes are slowing down, the skin condition, contractility of the heart muscle deteriorates.

Vegetable fats contribute to the absorption of calcium, contain vitamin E. They are many in nuts, seeds.

Why diets interfere with building muscle mass

After the assimilation of carbohydrates, part of the glucose is converted into glycogen, deposited in the liver and muscles. When in the course of training for muscle mass, the glucose level decreases, the body begins to break down glycogen by enzymes, so that the muscles continue to receive enough glucose to produce energy.

The reserves of glycogen are about half a day. When they end, it is the turn of the splitting of proteins contained in the circulatory system, the liver, the cells, including those forming the muscle mass.

When the muscle cell is cleaved, vitamin B6, zinc, magnesium, manganese, selenium is excreted from the body. Often, muscle cells are destroyed when following a variety of diets. Reducing body weight by this method causes a deficiency of vitamins and minerals, fraught with serious health consequences.

At the stage of cleavage of the muscle protein in the body, enzymes that burn fat are also being developed.

Excess intake with carbohydrate nutrition causes an increase in glucose levels and the production of insulin. Insulin inhibits the activity of enzymes that break down fat deposits, causing increased weight, obesity. On the other hand, fatty foods interfere with the action of insulin.

Therefore, in order to reduce body fat, it is necessary to reduce the intake of carbohydrates, to include fats in the diet.

Vitamins and minerals for muscle building

To increase muscle mass vitamins are needed, especially group B:

Deficiency B1 (thiamine) is manifested by rapid fatigue, weakness in the muscles, tired legs.

B2 (riboflavin) regulates metabolic processes, is necessary for growth, is part of enzymes that release energy from carbohydrates or fats. If there is a shortage of muscle, they stop accumulating energy, training causes one fatigue. Contained in eggs, bananas, ham.

B6 (pyridoxine) is important for brain activity. Deficiency causes depression, dysfunction of the endocrine glands, diabetes.
To grow muscle, you need different trace elements.

Why the growth of muscle tissue requires sports

Increasing the volume of muscle mass is impossible without physical exertion. Correctly selected exercises with weights improve the state of health, the activity of the cardiovascular system, and capillary circulation. To increase stamina, it is worthwhile to do walking, swimming, skiing, aerobics, and dancing.

Physical activity stimulates the activity of enzymes that break down fatty deposits. The released energy is spent on muscle contractions.

Regular sports exercises help to relieve muscles of some amino acids. With a sedentary lifestyle, they acquire toxic properties, interfere with the assimilation of other amino acids.

In the absence of physical activity, part of the muscle tissue is gradually destroyed, the body loses vitamin B6, zinc, other trace elements.
